Course aim

To introduce students to the important concepts in data quality, and to develop the skills required to analyse data quality problems, propose solutions, and justify the solution based on a cost/benefit analysis.

Course content

Introduction to data quality; cost/benefit trade-offs; assessing data quality; sampling for data quality assurance; data quality problem patters; causes of data quality problems; managing information as a product; information product maps; data quality policy.
