Course aim

The aim of this course is to equip students with the physiological, pathophysiological and pharmacological knowledge related to each of the AEP target pathologies as required to practice as an accredited exercise physiologist and as stated in the ESSA (Exercise and Sports Science Australia) accreditation documentation.

Course content

Principles of disease processes: causes, medical procedures, pharmacological interventions and the effects of these on exercise responses for the target pathologies, namely cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases, musculoskeletal disorders, metabolic, neurological / neuromuscular, cancer and mental health.
