To enable students to undertake applied social research into a contemporary social work issue with relevance to policy and/or practice.
Topic selection; negotiation with human service agency staff; literature search and review; design of research methodology; presentation of proposal; social work values and ethics in research; contribution of social work research to evidence-based policy, practice and social change; data analysis; thesis writing; publishing research.
