To extend students' abilities in the methods and principles of experimenting creatively with animation design.
Students will build on their graphic or illustration design skills by: developing concepts of image, typography and character design; applying design principles to 2D animation techniques including cel, stop-motion, video and computer; and exploring time and motion, and visual movement synchronised with sound. Students will create animations that demonstrate effective communication through development of narrative and theme, and will explore experimental production using relevant media and technologies. Students will develop an understanding of the history and development of principles and techniques of animation design.
