This course encourages critical analysis of the links between environmental politics, environmental security, human rights and social justice, particularly in the global South.
The global South; justice and environment movements; critical approaches to security; concepts of human and environmental security; environmental issues in the South and their relationship to human rights and social justice; role of political regimes, international financial institutions and transnational corporations in environmental politics in the South; case studies from the South with a focus on Asia.
