Resource implications of burgeoning epidemics of ‘first world’ diseases such as obesity, global infectious diseases such as HIV and Hepatitis, and the continuing impacts of long existing infectious diseases in ‘third world’ countries. Consumer issues such as self-medication and the ‘informed consumer’. Health in rural areas, both in Australia and internationally. Patient diversity: multicultural issues that impact on health, and issues for indigenous populations, including indigenous Australians. Global drug industry marketing practices.
