Course aim

To provide a sound understanding of the formulation of polyphasic pharmaceutical dosage forms  and the factors which influence their properties, stability and value as vehicles for the administration/application of drugs. 

Course content

Polyphasic pharmaceutical dosage forms; Interfacial phenomena; Surfactants, polymers and macromolecules; Coarse and colloidal dispersions; emulsions, creams, ointments, gels, pastes, suspensions, foams and aerosols, liposomes and newer polyphasic products under development; rheology; pharmaceutical microbiology (bioburden, preservation, and antiseptics and sterile preparations)  pharmaceutical calculations.
