To provide students with a range of practical skills that are fundamental to mechanical engineering.
Metrology and physical size measurement, limits and fits and linear/geometric tolerances. Engineering equipment such as load cells, accelerometers, manometers, pitot tubes and the wind tunnel. CNC machines, mills, lathes, rapid prototyping, and programming using SolidCAM. All this will be put into context by completion of a group design and build project (Warman) and industry visits to relevant local engineering companies.
