Course aim

The aims of the course are to develop conceptual understanding of sustainability and sustainable development issues for cleaner production and eco-design techniques to incorporate social, economic, and environmental considerations in systems based sustainable engineering design and practice. 

Course content

The content of this course covers the topics of sustainability in industrial development, industrial ecology, eco-efficiency, cleaner production, life-cycle analysis, end-of-life product management strategies, and extended producers responsibility. The course also introduces concepts of and techniques for environmentally conscious product design and sustainable product-service system development.
