Course aim

This course will introduce students to the field of human factors, and develop skills in the use of human factors methods as applied to a range of workplace settings.

Course content

Exploring safety in high-risk industries such as aviation, rail and healthcare, and the interaction between psychology and engineering in the post-industrial workplace. Major human factors considerations in the areas of cognition, physiology, stressors, teamwork, and human error. A range of methods used in the analysis of human factors issues in the workplace.
