Through completion of a workplace based development project, enable learners to plan, experience and critically reflect on their learning in the workplace in preparation for working as a professional
Induction to self-directed learning in the trans-discipline environment of the workplace; Learning theory (learning styles and preferences); Students will develop a project plan to undertake a work based development project for an organisation. They will work with the organisation to carefully define the required outcomes of the project. Working with staff from the organisation and support from the University, they will develop and implement, where possible, appropriate solutions. They will prepare an evaluation plan for the project and, where time permits, implement the evaluation. Students will complete a learning journal throughout the course reflecting on their experience from implementing the development project. They will monitor their progress through critical self-reflection (recognising learning; recognising what informed learning; planning future learning); evaluating achievement of learning outcomes.

Students are required to have successfully completed 18 units in their current Masters program before enrolling in the course EDUC 4192 Learning in the Workplace Project.
