Course aim

Students will develop their coaching and leadership skills by undergoing training in learning coaching and working with secondary students to develop their approaches to learning.

Course content

Students will participate in two days of training in coaching skills including active listening, effective questioning, mentoring, goal setting and action planning. They will be placed in a secondary school and will mentor individuals and small groups of students for up to 3 hours per week. They will keep a journal of their experiences and will maintain regular online contact with the course co-ordinator.
