The aim of this course is to develop a deeper theoretical and practical knowledge in the use of biomechanics in podiatry, including an in depth breakdown of the gait cycle, planes of motion, foot, leg and stance measurements. To further understand neuromuscular activity, ground reaction forces, pressure distributions and to investigate current theories and paradigms related to this field.
Discuss recapulate and define biomechanical terms, re-assess lower limb muscle, nerve and fascia structures via anatomical investigations, innervation and palpation assessment techniques, subtalar, midtarsal, rearfoot, forefoot and ankle function, gait analysis visual and technology. Muscle range testing, casting workshops and case studies.
