The aim of this course is to provide healthcare professionals with an understanding of the principles of contemporary public health and health promotion practice.

Course content

Perspectives on health and wellbeing; Ottawa Charter, Jakarta Declaration and Bangkok Charter; Models for developing health promotion strategies; Needs assessment and planning models, implementation strategies; Assessing and strengthening community resources; Priority determination; Sustainability of public health and health promotion.
