This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the implications of climate change for business. It examines the current assessments of climate science and climate economics, and explores governmental, intergovernmental and corporate responses to one the most significant challenges of modern times.
This course outlines the effects of climate change and their implications for corporate management. It includes an overview of climate science focusing on physical and social impacts; the economics of climate change; and government responses to climate change at national and international levels, including the Kyoto Protocol and the development of emissions trading schemes. The course considers implications of climate change, for major industry sectors such as energy, resources, agribusiness, manufacturing and financial services and how managers might respond to climate change at both a strategic and operational level.
