Meetings, conventions and exhibitions are an essential component and highly lucrative sectors of the Events industry worldwide. This course will provide students with a strategic perspective of the management and operation of the Meetings, Conventions and Exhibition industry within the Asia Pacific region.
Strategic review of business environment of the Meetings, Conventions and Exhibition industry in the Asia Pacific region and global marketplace; industry structure and stakeholders; facility planning and design considerations; criteria for destination and venue selection; destination and venue marketing; role of sponsorship; strategic management and operational factors in the provision of Meetings, Conventions and Exhibitions; management of risk and contingency; identification of contemporary trends and issues in the industry and implications for research.
