Course aim

The aim of the course is to provide students with an understanding of the simulation tools in Computer Aided Engineering applied to Mechanical and Structural Design of new products.

Course content

Computer aided design of machine components; Analysis and synthesis of mechanisms; Structural analysis of machine elements; Design optimisation.

Assessment

Major Assignment Group marks for design simulation/analysis project. , Practical Test, Practical work assessment on in class computer tasks (CAE) - students graded/assessed at the conclusion of class by way of the percentage of computer task completed.
