Course aim

To extend competencies in teaching through critical reflection on their teaching experience and to support students to develop a professional identity that accounts for values, understandings and practices and that espouses a professional commitment to improve teaching/learning.

Course content

Skills of critical reflection and theorising about practice; interpersonal and communication skills; goal setting; unit and lesson planning and evaluation; maintaining positive learning relationships; effective classroom management; assessment; working with diversity and addressing the needs of Indigenous students and students with special needs; ethical decision making, skills of critical reflection, communication and interpersonal relationships; teachers as reflective practitioners and life-long learners.
