Course aim

The aim of this course is to provide students with knowledge and understanding of procedural law and with skills sufficient to resolve disputes, when necessary, through the process of litigation.

Course content

Substantive topics canvassed include:

  • the adversarial system and alternative methods of dispute resolution
  • the jurisdiction of courts, transfer and cross-vesting
  • commencing proceedings
  • limitation of actions
  • parties
  • representative proceedings

  • ending proceedings early
