Course aim

To enable active professionals and/or community members to either review, plan, implement or report on a project or issue of concern to Aboriginal community or communities.

Course content

Students will undertake a directed study which will allow them to engage with the following:

  • project identification and planning including negotiations with relevant Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal groups 
  • utilisation of appropriate context specific protocols
  • ethical and pragmatic issues in reporting and representing Aboriginal peoples to themselves and others
  • information gathering and documentation processes; evaluation processes; analysis of information; collaborative learning.
The outcome of the study may be in any appropriate medium.

Graduate Diploma / Masters of Aboriginal Studies students must have completed Stage 1 courses or by permission of the Program Director.
