This course aims to investigate in detail the structure, function and reactivity of compounds and further develop the principles and strategies used in drug modification and synthesis.
Application of condensation reactions to the synthesis of compounds. Extend the theory of aromaticity and examine the synthesis and chemical modification of selected compounds containing aromatic rings. Explore the structure and reactivity of heterocyclic compounds as they relate to physiologically active compounds.
