Course aim

This course aims to investigate the structure, function and reactivity of compounds and introduce the theory of molecular structure modification as applied to drug synthesis.

Course content

Factors that influence the acid/base activity of drugs. Reactions and mechanisms applied to the synthesis and modification of drugs and related compounds. Stereochemistry and its effect on drug activity.
