Course aim

To extend students' knowledge of approaches to the design of research in psychology required to complete a literature review and research proposal.

Course content

Students will develop an advanced understanding of, and skills in, research design for both quantitative and qualitative data. This will include measurement in psychological research, research sampling, recruitment and participant management. Students will learn how to prepare a research proposal and incorporate feedback, including considerations around ethics and integrity in psychological research, preparing an ethics application, strategies for systematic literature search, and skills in writing a literature review.
