The aim of this course is to help students understand and implement the process of corporate venturing or corporate entrepreneurship as an approach for corporate renewal. Corporate venturing can be defined as the starting of a new business venture from within an existing venture.
The nature and importance of corporate venturing for business renewal and growth; modes of corporate venturing; sourcing ideas and recognising opportunities for corporate venturing; marshalling human and financial resources and organising to support corporate venturing; planning and managing the corporate venturing process including exit strategies for the corporate venture; managing the impact of corporate venturing on the organisation.
