To enable students to model and interpret impact of various effluent sources on water quality of water resources systems and fate of pollutants over the time.
Modelling of stream water quality with point and non-point sources of conservative and non-conservative pollutants. Continuous simulation modelling of urban and rural catchment. Assessment of efficiency of WSUD for improving water quality of urban catchment runoff by using MUSIC software. Modelling of pollution generation and wash-off processes in a rural catchment by using SWMM. Transport of contaminants in groundwater and how it interacts with the flow and thereby complicates the modelling process. Modelling drinking water treatment processes.
