Engineering Discipline Integration

Course aim

The aim of this course is to explore the relationship between the many engineering disciplines and other disciplines required in achieving a successful product and systems outcome. 

The highly sophisticated and complex systems required to meet the needs and wants of contemporary society demands of engineering capabilities that are not only individually challenging but also capable of being integrated in safety across discipline boundaries. This course will explore how this can best be achieved.

Course content

Domains, platforms and disciplines; electrical, electronic, mechanical, manufacturing, civil, structural, aerospace, naval, architecture, chemical, mining, environmental, building services, petroleum, management, specialists in EMC, human factors, safety, security, integrity and non-repudiation; communications; support engineering and integrated logistics support; sustainability and disposal, maturity management; marketing and public relations, finance, commercial and legal.
