Course aim

To provide a deeper examination of GIS and its application in the field of the environment.

Course content

Unit 1: Spatial Interpolation, Data Visualisation, Topology, Geoprocessing and model building, Uncertainties and Errors in GIS
Unit 2: Overview of the Environmental GIS applications, GIS in Environmental modelling, Introduction to GIS for disaster management, Mapping Natural hazards, Planning for shelters, Assessing damage, Mitigating disaster and recovery
