The overall aim of this course is to enable students to demonstrate an understanding of scopes of nursing practice and self-regulation and apply this knowledge in specific healthcare contexts. This course specifically prepares students for the Experiential Learning Activity – Practicum 3.
Generic Content: contextual regulation (mechanisms that shape health care practice); performance evaluation & developing an evidentiary basis for practice; authorisation to practice (including legislation & statutory regulation); education and credentialing; policy and funding structures; social, organisational and industrial structures; professional and workplace culture; accountability, responsibility, delegation & supervision. Self-directed learning modules specific to practice content associated with ELA Practicum 3. This content is related to a specific context and may include one of the following: mental health, peri-operative nursing, acute care, aged care, paediatrics, palliative care, primary health care, emergency
