The aim of this course is to develop students’ knowledge and skills to assist adult populations experiencing complex health problems achieve optimal health across a variety of contexts.
Adult developmental theories, quality and safety, legislation and policy for practice; consent, duty of care, advocacy, nursing assessment and management of common acute and complex health problems affecting adults, clinical decision making, models of care, professional communication, care planning and implementation, health outcome evaluation, evidence based practice, pathophysiology, hydration and nutrition, fluid and electrolyte balance, peri-operative care, pain management , pharmacology, safe administration of medicines, client and family teaching, cultural knowledge.
