Course aim

The aim of this course is to develop student knowledge about a range of foot and lower limb problems commonly encountered in the child, their assessment, and management.        

Course content

Neo and post-natal development; Lower limb, gross and fine motor assessment of the child (including history taking). Normal structure, function and development; Common congenital and biomechanical abnormalities; Common paediatric syndromes; Common soft tissue problems; Podiatric intervention and treatment strategies; Ethics and confidentiality in management of the paediatric patient.
