Course aim

Develop student skills in the theory and practical application of podiatry assessment and treatment techniques.

Course content

Regional foot pain and pathologies, diabetes related foot concerns, infection of soft tissue and bone, fractures of bone, oedema of the lower limb, management for acute dermatological foot pathologies; advanced examination technique: vascular, neurological; clinical techniques: nail treatment, scalpel techniques, equipment handling, safety; mechanical techniques: use of padding and strapping; dressing techniques; topical medicaments: choice, safe handling and application, patient instructions, recording.
