This course covers aspects of digital receiver design that range from practical to theoretical, including signal processing architectures, synchronisation algorithms and the inclusion of iterative (i.e. turbo) receiver processing. The course describes algorithms and architectures used for modern modulation, coding and multiple access methods. The course provides insight into the impact of iterative receiver techniques on communications signal processing. The course provides “hand-on” experience through Matlab-based tutorial and assignment work.
