Course aim

To provide students with the methods, conceptual foundations, practices and skills necessary to function in the property investment and institutional property markets.

Course content

Property investment evaluation techniques and financing, including the principles of property investment analysis; financial mathematics and computer applications (Excel) for property analysis; measuring investment performance - the concept of returns; property tax analysis; the use of debt and the effects of leverage; after-tax DCF investment analysis (NPV, IRR, MIRR); applied investment analysis; real estate portfolio theory; REITs, disruptive property investment instruments including fin tech and prop tech.
