Course aim

The aim of this course is to assist occupational therapists to develop a comprehensive understanding of driver assessment and rehabilitation theory and to demonstrate the capacity to gather and synthesise assessment information, develop program plans and evaluate client outcomes in this speciality area of practice.

Course content

Getting started: orientation to on-line learning, theory and context, the pre on-road assessment overview and the interview, vision screening, physical function screening, cognitive and perceptual function screening, road law and road craft, assessment synthesis and communication strategies.

Occupational therapists with current registration (or state equivalent) and at least two years post graduation clinical experience in OT.
