To develop students’ understanding of the link between security theory and technical computer and network security. To comprehend formal and technical principles underlying security testing and assurance. To implement and test security mechanisms and technical principles in a closed laboratory environment.
Computer and Network Security Principles: types of threats and responses, types of attacker, technical solutions, procedures for implementing and maintaining security.
Practical computer and network security: securing a host machine, hacking and defensive countermeasures.
