The aim of this course is to equip students to apply specialised knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship in a range of contexts to undertake highly skilled work in this field, and to provide a pathway for further learning. The course will help students identify and successfully develop entrepreneurial opportunities to the stage of developing a professional plan to launch a new venture, whether in the for-profit sector, or in the field of social entrepreneurship.
The nature and importance of entrepreneurship and innovation; understanding entrepreneurs' motivations; generating, identifying and screening new venture ideas; the entrepreneurial process; organising resources needed to launch a new venture; sources of new venture finance; ethical considerations; entrepreneurial strategy; forecasting sales; putting together a credible feasibility plan to launch the new venture.
