Project Management Minor Thesis 1

Course aim

To provide students with the opportunity to apply expert, specialised cognitive and technical skills in a body of knowledge of project management and to independently plan a substantial research-based project.

Course content

This course is the first of two courses (BUSS 5295 and BUSS 5306) that culminate in an 18,000-word research project and preliminary literature review, which collectively demonstrate a high level of synthesis of concepts and prepares the student for lifelong learning in pursuit of personal development and excellence in professional practice.
Students will generate a plan to investigate and report on special issues pertaining to a relevant research topic from within the area of Project Management, and within the context of a specialism of interest, if applicable. Students will develop a research project proposal, followed by a literature search and preliminary literature review. Students will then apply for human research ethics approval as a pre-requisite for subsequently conducting the empirical research in Project Management Minor Thesis 2.
