To provide a general understanding of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), and to develop skills in the use of software, focusing on obtaining relevant skills for students to use ICT effectively during their studies at the university and in the world beyond.
The course will be based on two themes: Technical aspects of computing, and ICT applications at work. In the technical aspects, the following topics will be covered: ICT components and their functions, operating systems and communications technologies. Under ICT applications, skills in word-processing and manipulation, page design, presentation software, and simple database design will be taught.
