To encourage students to think in critical ways about design, to understand how visual arguments are produced in culture and society, and to develop their skills in communicating effectively using appropriate approaches and formats.
Students will develop skills in understanding how visual arguments are constituted in culture and society, and explore modes of representation and meaning production. Students will develop a basis for understanding and reading visual culture as it relates to design practice; methods for decoding the language of visual communication and gain insight into critical social perspectives.
