To further develop students' understanding of the performing arts traditions of Asia and the social context in which these traditions and forms have arisen.
Students will further develop their knowledge in Asian performance traditions, including traditional and contemporary theatre and major performing arts froms from China (Peking Opera), India (Kathakali), Indonesia (Wayang) and Japan (Noh, Bunraku, kabuki). Students will reflect the wealth of cultures and styles within the history and social context in which these traditions and forms have arisen.
