To develop an advanced understanding of core concepts in language and culture, and their relationship and implications for TESOL pedagogy in diverse contexts.
Students will develop advanced understandings of constructs of language and culture in local and global settings in relation to how they operate dynamically in social contexts to influence identity, power relations, the negotiation of meanings, and personal and professional discourses. Students will apply these understandings to a range of debates to draw out issues pertaining to pedagogical practice in a specific English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD) setting.
