To integrate students' knowledge on the theoretical and practical aspects of drafting and editing so they are able to work through the stages of publication within the professional context.
Students will consolidate their skills in the close editing of a wide range of texts, preparing manuscripts for publication, and current issues in copyright. They will apply these skills by working with an industry partner on a practically based editing project and networking with professional organisations such as the Society of Editors, the Australian Society for Technical Communication, the Macquarie Style Council, and the SA Writers’ Centre. Students will then reflect on these experiences, identifying the skills required to communicate professionally and effectively within the workplace.
