To investigate contemporary issues impacting on the health and well-being of youth and adolescents, critically analyse contextual influences and describe educational strategies and practices to minimise harm and promote well-being.
The students will critically appraise the impact of social, cultural and contextual influences on lifestyle choices and practices associated with alcohol & drug use, sexual health, relationships, mental health. Demonstrate teaching for effective learning fostering a harm minimisation approach and strategies for enhancing protective behaviours, resilience, informed decision making, personal and social responsibility in areas of sexual health, drug and alcohol education and well being.
