Course aim

To further develop students' understanding on how our identities are produced and maintained through the interplay between language and culture.

Course content

In this course students will investigate the relationship between language and identity, both personal and professional through a range of scholarly, literary and artistic sources. They will examine identity as membership, as narrative, as difference, as history and memory, as performance and as institutional. They will conduct interview-based research and prepare multi-media presentations that demonstrate their investigations.
