To develop students’ understanding of and ability to manage language and culture as resources in professional practice.
Students will develop further understanding of the role of language and culture in the workplace in a range of domains eg health, medicine, business, education and law. Students will investigate workplace contexts and interactions from linguistic and cultural perspectives; to analyse discourse and its role in professional expertise, and how language is used and understood in professional/client interaction; and to evaluate their own and others' professional communication.
