Course aim

To examine and critically review contemporary sources for leadership, administrative theory and practice in Catholic schools including an introduction to development of vision and mission, models of leadership, and understandings of the school as a complex organisation.

Course content

Vision and mission of the Catholic school, models and theories of leadership, leadership and culture; the school as a complex organization, appreciation of the social and cultural values of the students; maintaining school community values and relationships; staff development and supervision; integrating values and political and financial realities; leading the curriculum; interaction with larger educational organisations and authorities.
