Course aim

To provide an effective framework for understanding the strategic activities within the corporation and to enable to students to analyse the economics of strategic behaviour of organisations in an international context.

Course content

Economics of strategic theories; the nature of international competitive strategies; firm boundaries and organisational structures; corporate, business and functional strategies; competitors and competition; strategic commitment; dynamics of pricing rivalry; international market entry and development; strategic positioning for competitive advantage; sustaining competitive advantage; incentives; agency and performance measurement; strategy and structure; governance of the international corporation; power culture and ethics of the international corporation.
