Course aim

To train the student to carry out a research problem in the laboratory environment, to practice the skills the student has developed in the Honours Project 1 and Research Project Preparation (NASC 4003) courses. The present course aims to provide an intensive exposure in the laboratory work, including preparation of experiments, data collection, data analysis, interpretation of your results in the context of current scientific literature, presentation of a final seminar, and preparation of an Honours Thesis that describes the project work the student has carried out over the whole year.

Course content

This course is intended to provide an introduction to research project, research the scientific literature to understand and be able to describe to others the background and current state of knowledge in the area of research project, and establish a research plan, and commence research work on the project.
