Course aim

To introduce students to the key theoretical, formal and practical aspects of Hollywood film and television.

Course content

Through a historic, industrial and formal survey of Hollywood filmmaking, students will explore classical and contemporary storytelling strategies and uses of film style. In the practical components of the course, students will be introduced to the basic skills, techniques and professional practices which underpin contemporary film and television production as these also derive from Hollywood.
