To develop students’ proficiency in Japanese at an advanced level and extend their knowledge of interculturality.
Students will develop advanced vocabulary, structures and text types drawn from a range of Japanese media developing high-level communication skills in Japanese. Students will further expand their cultural knowledge integral to the range of text types through the Japanese community participation program, a selection of cultural texts drawn from key literary figures, national identity, patriotism, moral duty and alienation during Japan’s Edo and Meiji eras and relevance to Japanese culture and their relationship with present society.
